A pair of turbocharged motors make the Chevy Equinox very popular SUV for traveling in Paso Robles. The standard motor is a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that delivers up to 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque at the crank. A six-speed automatic sends that power to either a pair of front drive wheels or all four drive with AWD.

An optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine boosts horsepower to 252 ponies and torque to 260 pound-feet. A nine-speed automatic delivers the power to either two or four drive wheels. The improved power makes the Chevy Equinox a real winner at Paso Robles Chevrolet.

The base motor is rated for 26 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway while using front-wheel drive. Deduct about a mile per gallon for AWD. The bigger motor is good for 29 mpg on the highway and 22 while driving in town. AWD reduces that to 28 mpg.
